2003 Maintenance Work CG36500
The following tasks were accomplished:
- Order appropriate bronze turnbuckles for bow fender to replace existing galvanized eye bolts
- Mount new GPS bracket on varnished bridge deck. Install Perko # 1190 waterproof deck outlet and hard wire for GPS
- Remount to proper height the socket for folding anchor on forward bulkhead of engine compartment. Use Interlux # 214 Bedding Compound between metal and other surface
- Replace defective transductor
- Remove and replace defective battery switch
- Remove engine starter and transport to Fugate Electric in Orleans for repair and repainting
- Clean forward compartment interior with X-14 spray mildewcide solution
- Empty raw water strainers. Service tapered valve with grease to allow for easy shifting of intake strainers. Reassemble prior to launch
- Apply Interlux# 31 White Seam Compound to open seams on hull, port side forward. Prime Interlux # 4274 Primer White Pre-Cote
- Sand hull with air powered DA sander and fine grit self-adhesive paper
- Repair/fair off mooring/towing bitt
- Sand and prime with Interlux #4279 Primer White Pre-Cote
- Paint topsides (hull) with Interlux # 220 White
- Paint black metal trim with Gloss Black Enamel
- Prime and paint bare spots in forward compartment with Interlux # 4279 Primer White Pre-Cote
- Replace screen on engine room vent with black fiberglass or brass screening. Bed with # 214 Bedding Compound and re-install
- Paint white all compartment tops, bulkheads, coamings and hand rails
- Sand, vacuum and prime coxswain flat decking. Paint with Oregon Buff paint
- Sand, vacuum and prime midships decking. Paint with Oregon Buff paint
- Sand, vacuum and prime midships gear lockers. Paint with Oregon Buff paint
- Sand propeller with 120 grit paper. Remove growths from stuffing box. Coat prop with light grease after vacuuming
- Paint bottom
