On September, 2005, the CG36500 ventured to the USCG Academy in New London, CT to be present at the unveiling of a 9' x 9' mural by Tony Falcone of the rescue of the 32 seamen from the tanker Pendleton. Pete Kennedy, Dick Ryder, Dick Boonisar and Al Danielson made courtesy calls at Group Woods Hole and Station Point Judith enroute.

On Tuesday, September 13, 2005, a reception , attended by 150 people, was held at the Orleans Yacht Club to celebrate the CG36500 being listed on the National Register of Historic Places. On a beautiful Cape Cod evening , people gathered to share stories about the events of February 18, 1952 and the restoration and preservation of this historic MLB. Many of those in attendance were thanked for their many years of work, gifts of material, financial support and enthusiastic dedication. The event was hosted by the Orleans Historical Society and sponsored by a local patron.
